With reference to your letter No.13702/33 of the 25th
January, regarding a semi-official enquiry made by the
United States Government of His Majesty's Ambassador at
Washington on the subject of the delivery at Canton, from
Hongkong, of three fighting aeroplanes, I am directed by
Secretary Sir John Simon to enquire whether the Secretary of
State for the Colonies has yet received from the Governor of
